Event near us - Forage & Taste at Kendal Castle
Looking for a bite-sized intro to the world of foraging? This two-hour guided walk around the grounds of Kendal Castle is the perfect way to dip your toes (and tastebuds!) into the art of wild food. Led by a seasoned foraging expert, this relaxed session focuses on identifying, tasting, and understanding the edible plants growing all around us – even in the most unexpected places.
🌱 What’s included:
A gentle 2–3km walk through meadows, woodlands and castle paths
Hands-on ID work with wild edibles and their cheeky poisonous lookalikes
Fascinating insights into the laws, ethics and etiquette of safe, sustainable foraging
Plenty of nibbles and tasters picked fresh from the wild (no formal meal, but lots of flavour!)
The chance to slow down, reconnect with nature, and discover new ingredients hiding in plain sight
A follow-up email listing all the finds from the day so you can dive deeper in your own time
Whether you’re curious about wild food or simply fancy an alternative walk with a tasty twist, this friendly, informal session is a great way to get started.
Just bring your walking shoes, an open mind, and maybe a notebook for all the wild wisdom you’re about to gather.
