Sundays at The Yan are all about slow cooked Cumbrian meats, crispy roasties, rich gravy, and Yorkshire puddings that take up half the plate. It’s no surprise that we are fully booked most weekends, so if you’re after a spot, we highly recommend booking ahead.

Our Sunday Lunch in Grasmere is served from 1pm to 7pm, offering a set menu that’s as indulgent as it should be:

  • £34.95 for two courses

  • £42.95 for three courses

A discretionary 10% service charge will be added to your bill, which is split 100% amongst our team, just let us know if you’d like it removed.

Getting Started

LITTLE SOMETHING TO NIBBLE. English Sparkling Rosé, Oxney Estate

Olives and cornichons bound in a French dressing. V/DF/GF/Vg

 

CRAB N CORN. Riesling, A&C Sparr

Golden sweetcorn fritters, hand-picked crab, buttermilk ranch, spring onions and sweet chilli jam. Light, bright and packed with flavour. GF (DF available)

 

CRISPY RICE. Pinot Noir, Mancini

Golden crispy sushi rice with wild mushrooms in a deep savoury sauce. Topped with crispy onions, mangetout and a soy cured egg yolk. V/DF/GF (Vg available)

 

SUMMER SALAD. Rosé Blend, Black Chalk

Silky whipped feta, topped with shredded confit duck leg, pomegranate seeds, pickled courgette ribbons and sweet cherry tomatoes. Finished with golden croutons and a drizzle of hot honey. Don’t fancy the duck? Go veggie! (GF/V available).

Sharing Boards

All our sharing platters are served with Yorkshire puddings, rosemary roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, creamy mash potato, Yan stuffing, green beans, courgettes, carrots and red wine gravy. Simply choose a roast from below for each person and we'll take care of the rest.

Designed for sharing, but easy to split, just ask if you’d like yours done as a solo platter.

 BEEF. Viognier Blend, Stéphanie Ogier or Mancini, Pinot Noir

Slow cooked, Cumbrian, dry aged beef brisket, with those flavour packed fatty edges left in for extra richness. Topped with horseradish butter. (GF/DF available)

LAMB. Riesling, A&C Sparr or Syrah, Stéphanie Ogier

Slow cooked, pulled Hardwick lamb shoulder parcel with mint and wrapped in parma ham. (GF/DF available)

PORK. Chardonnay, Runchet or Corvina Blend, Serègo Alighieri

Slow cooked juicy Cumbrian pork belly with crackling. (GF/DF available)

 VEGGIE. Chenin Blanc, Couly Dutheil or Nebiolo, Ca’Bianca

Made with slowly braised Grasmere Herdwick lamb, cheesy mash potato, cured ham and parsley garden peas… if you have not tried this yet, you need to! GF

Mussels in a light, summery chilli broth with chickpeas and veg (FYI she’s a spicy one). Topped with oven baked hake and lemon crème fraîche. No shells. No effort. You’re welcome. £22.95 DF/GF

MUSHROOM SLOPPY JOE. Viognier, Stéphanie Ogier or Nebiolo, Ca’Bianca

A veggie take on an American classic, that might be better than the OG! Pulled oyster mushrooms in a rich tomato & onion gravy. Pickled cabbage, fries and a cheesy mustard sauce for dipping. So good the meat eaters will be jealous. V (Vg/DF available).

STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING. Classic pud with toffee sauce and vanilla Three Hill’s Gelato or clotted cream. V

MINT CHOC MOUSSE. Our classic chocolate mousse with a hint of peppermint set on a buttery shortbread biscuit. Peppermint gel, popping candy and chocolate shards. V/GF (DF available)

YAN-ACOTTA. Silky lemon pa nna cotta topped with sharp lemon curd, crisp meringue shards, fresh raspberries and caramelised white chocolate. GF

TROPIC LIKE IT’S HOT. Mango and coconut sorbet sandwiched between a sesame & sunflower seed brittle. Finished with chocolate drizzle and desiccated coconut. Decadence, but make it plant powered. V/Vg/DF/GF <contains nuts>

THREE CHEESE BOARD. Made up of three amazing British cheeses that have been carefully selected and taste tested by us! Served with bread crisps, chutney, and fresh fruit, all made here at The Yan. (GF available).
