Three nights tucked beneath the fells. Fires lit, glasses filled, plenty of great food and absolutely no washing up.
Christmas at The Yan is a little different to Christmas at home – mainly because we'll do all the cooking.
Join us from Christmas Eve for a fully catered three-night stay at Broadrayne Farm, where we'll take care of everything from the first mince pie to the final breakfast. All you need to do is arrive, settle in and decide whether you're heading out for a festive fell walk or staying firmly beside the fire.
We're a tiny, family-run place, so Christmas here feels much more like joining us for ours than checking into a hotel for yours.
Muddy boots welcome. Stretchy trousers strongly recommended.
Arrive, unpack and consider Christmas officially started.
Join us from 3pm on Christmas Eve, when we'll have the mulled wine warming, eggnog pouring and mince pies ready.
Once you've settled into your room, cottage or Lookout, there's time for a wander, a drink by the fire or absolutely nothing at all before joining us in the Bistro for your first three-course dinner of the stay.
Then it's back to bed beneath the fells.
Stockings optional.
Wake up to Bucks Fizz before heading down for a proper Yan breakfast.
After that, the day is yours. Pull your boots on and head into the fells, wander into Grasmere, open presents, find a comfortable chair and refuse to move – there are no rules here.
We'll be busy in the kitchen preparing the main event: our five-course Christmas feast, served at either 1pm or 5pm.
Expect a proper Christmas dinner, Yan style. Generous plates, brilliant Cumbrian produce, all the trimmings and absolutely no arguments over who's doing the washing up.
Then retire somewhere comfortable and wonder why you've ever cooked Christmas dinner yourself.
Fresh air. More food. Probably pudding.
After another hearty breakfast, Boxing Day is made for getting outside.
Walk straight from the farm into some of the best scenery in the Lake District, head into Grasmere or take things considerably slower and stay somewhere warm with a coffee.
We'll have dinner waiting for you later, so all you need to worry about is working up enough of an appetite to do it justice.
One last brekkie.
We'll send you home after one final Yan breakfast, well-fed, properly rested and wondering whether it's too early to book Christmas again.
No leftovers to deal with. No kitchen to clean.
Just pack the car and head home.
