What to expect 

The Byre is a one-bedroom self catering apartment near Grasmere for two. Small but perfectly formed, this apartment sees a contemporary space set within a 19th Century building that used to be a cow byre (barn). The cows are long gone and instead, you can find a modern, self-contained apartment with quality fixtures and furnishings which acts as the perfect base to explore The Lakes.

The Byre is all on one level with stunning views towards Helm Crag and Steel Fell. The space comprises an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area complete with a log burning stove, comfy corner sofa, a wall mounted Smart 4K LED TV, SONOS music system and WiFi throughout. The bright, modern kitchen comes well-equipped with an oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Although, if you fancy breakfast or dinner from our bistro either delivered to your door or within the restaurant, just book a table here.

The bedroom at The Byre is a lovely king-sized bedroom with relaxing, neutral furnishings. A large, ultra-modern bathroom with bath, separate shower, basin and WC can be found separately. Crisp white linen, fluffy towels and bath sheets, and our favourite natural Pure Lake toiletries are included for all guests, as standard. 

Our farm apartment also has its own enclosed outdoor seating area and BBQ where you can see the last of the sun setting and stunning views up Dunmail Raise, Steel Fell and Helm Crag - a romantic spot to enjoy a sundowner (or two).

A whole host of extras can be booked ready for your arrival including eggs from our ducks and hens, a bottle of Champagne, logs for your wood burner or bags of kindling. Just select your preferences and we’ll have it ready and waiting for you.

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is before 10am.
