What to expect

The Fold is a small self-catering, studio apartment for two near the Lake District's Grasmere. Small but perfectly formed, this studio sees a contemporary space set within a 19th Century building that used to be a cow byre (barn). The cows are long gone and instead, you can find a modern, self-contained ground floor studio apartment which acts as the perfect base to explore The Lakes.

The Fold is 13m2 and all on one level with relaxing, neutral furnishings. The space comprises of a full size double bed, a compact dining and kitchen area, an ensuite bathroom pod, comfy armchair, wall-mounted LED Smart 4K flat-screen TV and WiFi throughout. The kitchen comes well-equipped with a combi microwave oven, induction hob and fridge freezer. Although, if you fancy breakfast or dinner from our bistro, either delivered to your door or within the restaurant, just book a table using the link on your booking confirmation email.

Crisp white bed linen, fluffy towels and bath sheets, and our favourite natural Pure Lake toiletries are included for all guests, as standard.

Our farm studio apartment's crown jewel is its private, enclosed outdoor seating area and BBQ where you can see the last of the sun setting and stunning views up Helm Crag - a romantic spot to enjoy a sundowner (or two).

A whole host of extras can be booked ready for your arrival including eggs from our ducks and hens or a bottle of Champagne. Just select your preferences and we’ll have it ready and waiting for you.

The Fold has space for one small to medium size dog, if you are bringing a larger dog we do recommend on of our bigger spaces. We can supply dog towels and poo bags. Your waggy-tailed family member will also get a box of locally made, natural doggy treats as a welcome gift. Please bring your pet's bed, water and food bowls with you. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is before 10am.
