Dark Sky Canoeing
🌌 Dark Sky Canoeing on Coniston Water
Paddle under the stars - a Lake District experience like no other
Ready for a night you’ll never forget? Set off at dusk for a tranquil guided canoe paddle across Coniston Water, where the mountains fade into silhouette and the stars begin to appear above you.
You’ll start while it’s still light, getting the hang of paddling before gliding into darkness as the night sky unfolds. Along the way, there’s time to pause for hot chocolate, stories about the constellations, and a spot of stargazing that’ll make you forget what Wi-Fi even is.
Coniston sits within some of the darkest skies in Britain, where you can see thousands of stars (and even the Milky Way) with the naked eye. Don’t worry if you’re new to it - the canoes fit two people, and the team can link them together to keep things extra steady.
